Templar Builds — Stigmas, Stats & Rotation

One PvE Stigma core, one set of stat priorities, the PvP swaps that actually matter — all cross-checked against what top Global Templars run.

Build focus: Enmity tank — Judgment burst windows on a defensive frame
How to read this: the Stigma sets below mirror what top-sampled level 45 players on Global actually run (armory data snapshot Oct 22, 2026 · Global patch of Oct 13–14). Builds shift with patches — re-check after every balance update, and treat any tier claim as consensus, not gospel.

Templar PvE Stigma core (4 slots — open at levels 22, 27, 32, 37)

StigmaWhat it does & why it's here
Empyrean Lord's PunishmentAoE stun on up to 4 targets (100% on NPCs) — your strongest enmity and opener tool.
Doom ShieldRushes to a target, knocks it down, shields you and prepares Judgment. A core part of the rotation, not a defensive afterthought.
Battlefield BannerConverts your Defense stat into Attack — a tank's defense literally becomes threat.
Taunt30s cooldown with a Shrink debuff and a 50% taunt chance on players. Level it only if forced-target uptime is a problem.
Leveling plan: take every Stigma you keep to level 5 first (5 points each, unlocks the first Specialty), then push your main Stigma to 10 and 15 before the rest — the 4- and 8-point bands are where Stigma Shards run dry. Swapping Stigmas is blocked in combat: switch between pulls, not mid-fight.

Skill priorities & rotation

Push Judgment first: Specialty at 12 gives a guaranteed Critical Hit, 16 removes its cooldown — then push it to 20 with Daevanion nodes. Pummel at 12 (cooldown reduction) and Warding Strike at 12 (Damage Tolerance) / 16 (party protection) come next.

Rotation: Open with Shield Smite or Doom Shield to start a Judgment window → Pummel + Vicious Strike while Judgment procs → fully charge Punishment when the boss holds still → reapply Warding Strike and repeat. Max the Fury passive so successful blocks boost party damage. On the Nezekan Daevanion board, take the blue nodes for Judgment, Punishment and Pummel first.

Stat priority

Accuracy first — a missed opener is a dropped threat table. Then HP, then Defense or Block, whichever your gear already has. Chasing damage before your attacks always land is pointless; your groups have DPS for that.

PvP swaps

Swap Noble Armor and Grapple in for Taunt and Battlefield Banner. Grapple pulls targets in group PvP; Noble Armor is the survival window.

Build traps to avoid

  • Building damage before Accuracy — dropped attacks mean dropped threat
  • Treating Doom Shield as pure defense when it is a Judgment window opener
  • Ignoring the Fury passive; blocked hits are supposed to feed the party

Templar build FAQ

What are the best Templar Stigmas in AION 2 Global?

Doom Shield, Empyrean Lord's Punishment, Battlefield Banner and Taunt is the standard PvE set; the single most-sampled variant swaps Taunt for Noble Armor. Battlefield Banner converting Defense into Attack is the piece tanks never remove.

Which stats should a Templar prioritize?

Accuracy first — a missed opener becomes a threat problem — then HP, then Defense or Block. Damage stats come last on a tank.

How does Templar damage work?

Through Judgment windows: Doom Shield or Shield Smite starts them, Pummel and Vicious Strike extend them, and a fully charged Punishment lands inside. The Fury passive converts your blocks into party damage.
