Privacy & Cookie Policy
This is an unofficial fan guide about the video game AION 2. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NCSOFT. This page explains what data the site collects, why, and how you can control it.
Short version: no accounts, no email sign-up, no selling of personal data. We use anonymous analytics, optional advertising cookies, and your browser's local storage for the checklist.
1. Who we are
This site is operated by an independent publisher. For any privacy request, contact [email protected].
2. What we collect
- Anonymous usage data — page views, referrer, approximate country, device type and browser, collected through a privacy-friendly analytics tool. IP addresses are truncated or hashed and are not used to identify you.
- Local storage — your language choice, cookie consent choice, and checklist progress are stored in your own browser. They never reach our server.
- Advertising data — if advertising is enabled, ad partners may set cookies to measure and personalise ads. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland this only happens with your consent.
We do not knowingly collect names, postal addresses, payment details or any special-category data. There is no newsletter or login on this site.
3. Cookies
Cookies and similar technologies are used for three purposes:
- Essential — remembering your consent and language preference. These cannot be turned off.
- Analytics — aggregate traffic measurement, so we know which guides are useful.
- Advertising — only after you accept, and only once ads are live.
You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings, and you can re-open the consent banner by clearing this site's local storage.
4. Third parties
Depending on which features are enabled, the following categories of providers may process data on our behalf: a web analytics provider, an advertising network (for example Google AdSense), a content delivery / hosting provider, and affiliate networks. Each processes data under its own privacy policy. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses for transfers outside the EEA.
5. Your rights
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. California residents have the right to know, delete and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email us and we will respond within 30 days.
6. Children
This site is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Data retention & security
Aggregate analytics are retained for up to 26 months. The site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but we keep the collected data minimal precisely so that a breach could not expose much.
8. Affiliate & advertising disclosure
Some outbound links to game retailers, key stores or subscription services may be affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend — rankings and verdicts are written before any commercial relationship is considered, and commercial partners have no editorial input.
Advertising, when present, is clearly separated from editorial content. We do not publish paid reviews or accept payment for a positive verdict.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above will change and, where appropriate, a notice will appear on the home page.
