Chanter Guide — AION 2 Global (Season 1)

The amplifier — buff the whole party at once, heal enough to matter, and out-damage half the DPS while you're at it.

Is Chanter right for you?

Why players pick it

  • Party-wide buffs in one cast. Mantras and buff skills upgrade the entire group simultaneously — you make seven other people better with one rotation.
  • Real damage, not a pity role. Early Global damage data (CP-adjusted, October 7) put Chanter at the very top, and Korean tier lists rate it highly for group PvE. Dark Crush with a crit Specialty and a chainable Piercing Strike hits hard.
  • Secondary healing that counts. You cannot replace a Cleric, but your heals keep a good group alive through normal mistakes.
  • Comfortable solo play. Buffs plus self-sustain plus melee damage make the 1–45 grind pleasant — unlike the Cleric's.

Know before you commit

  • Not a real healer. In content tuned for one dedicated healer, a Chanter in the healer slot is a compromise, not an equivalent.
  • Jack of all trades, master of one. Groups recruiting a strict tank-healer-three-DPS shape may skip you; flexible groups love you.
  • Melee support positioning. You buff from the front line, which means standing where the damage happens.
Best fit: Groups that want a support who also fights
No take-backs: Global has no class change, and Stigma, Skill Points and enhancement materials are all invested in one character. Deleting a character now carries a 24-hour wait — rerolling is possible, but planning first is cheaper.

Leveling 1–45 as Chanter

Follow the yellow Episode quests — they carry ~80% of early XP. Activate every Kibelisk you pass for fast travel, equip quest gear immediately, and don't enhance gear you'll replace within five levels.

Stigma plan for Chanter: Buff mantras first — they are why groups want you. Then damage: Dark Crush with the crit Specialty, chained into Piercing Strike (a no-cooldown Specialty at higher ranks). Stigma slots open at level 22, 27, 32 and 37.

The level 37–45 stretch finishes the Episode and Ascension chains; Ascension unlocks zones, dungeons, Stigmas and the Daevanion system, so don't skip it. The Season 1 Global cap is 45 (Korea/Taiwan are at 50 — ignore KR build guides for now).

Chanter at the level 45 cap

You are the flexible slot in every group: buff, off-heal and fight. Gear ladder as standard — Regional Quests → Sealed Dungeons → Strongholds → Empyrean Traces → Conquest Expeditions, 2,800 Item Level unlocks Abyssal Forge: Ludra.

Chanter FAQ

Is Chanter a healer or a DPS in AION 2?

Both, by design — a frontline hybrid. It buffs the party, heals as a secondary function and deals competitive melee damage.

Is Chanter good for beginners?

Very — forgiving solo leveling, instant group appeal and a simple buff-first rotation. The nuance is learning when to heal and when to hit.

Why do tier lists rate Chanter so highly?

Early Global damage data put it at the top, and Korean PvE lists rate it highly for group play. Treat tier placement as early opinion — but the buff package is objectively unique.

What weapon does Chanter use?

A staff, used in melee range — the class fights where the damage is.
