Is Assassin right for you?

Why players pick it

  • The strongest single-target burst. Assassin stacks Insignias on a target and detonates them. When the window is played cleanly, nothing else deletes a single enemy as fast.
  • A top PvP duelist. Korean tier lists — built on much longer data — regularly name it among the best arena and open-world fighters. Stealth lets you choose the fight.
  • Mobility as defense. Your escape and gap-close tools are real. A played-well Assassin is hard to pin down.
  • Crits feed the machine. Critical hits power the main skill cycle, so crit chance scales your whole rotation, not just one number.

Know before you commit

  • Mistimed windows do zero damage. If you blow the buff window, the damage simply does not happen. Low floor, high ceiling — the class taxes impatience.
  • Squishiest melee. You have neither Gladiator's sustain nor Templar's shield. Getting caught mid-window is usually fatal.
  • Group value depends on execution. In organized PvE you are one DPS among many; your advantage is personal skill, not party utility.
Best fit: PvP pick-offs and players who enjoy mastering a high ceiling
No take-backs: Global has no class change, and Stigma, Skill Points and enhancement materials are all invested in one character. Deleting a character now carries a 24-hour wait — rerolling is possible, but planning first is cheaper.

Leveling 1–45 as Assassin

Follow the yellow Episode quests — they carry ~80% of early XP. Activate every Kibelisk you pass for fast travel, equip quest gear immediately, and don't enhance gear you'll replace within five levels.

Stigma plan for Assassin: Build for burst: Insignia generation and detonation first, mobility second, sustain last. Guides disagree on whether to max Quick Slice or Heart Gore first — the honest answer is that both work; pick one and commit. Four Stigma slots open at level 22, 27, 32 and 37.

The level 37–45 stretch finishes the Episode and Ascension chains; Ascension unlocks zones, dungeons, Stigmas and the Daevanion system, so don't skip it. The Season 1 Global cap is 45 (Korea/Taiwan are at 50 — ignore KR build guides for now).

Assassin at the level 45 cap

In PvE you bring single-target burst for bosses; in PvP you hunt isolated targets. Gear follows the standard ladder — Sealed Dungeons and Conquest Expeditions — but your real endgame investment is practice: this class scales with the player more than with Item Level.

Assassin FAQ

Is Assassin good in AION 2 PvP?

Yes — it is widely considered the best one-on-one class, especially with stealth to open fights on its own terms. It rewards precise timing, so it is stronger in practiced hands than in tier-list averages.

Is Assassin beginner-friendly?

It is the hardest class on the roster to play well. If you want an easier first character, Gladiator (melee) or Ranger (ranged) are the standard recommendations.

What does the Assassin's Insignia mechanic do?

You apply Insignia stacks to a target, then detonate them for burst damage. Managing that cycle — plus stealth and cooldowns — is the whole skill expression of the class.

What weapons does Assassin use?

One dagger in each hand, giving fast attack speed and combo-based burst.
